This book has a five star rating because it gives great detail into the life of Louis Armstrong. It tells of all the struggles he encounter as a child, as a teen, and the challenges he met as an adult as well. This book would be a great book for any your person who was interested in the live of Louis Armstrong and the struggles he encountered throught his life. This book gives insight into his life as a person and as a musician.

the book is a story of espionage, and you can feel yourself moving with the characters. a great way to tell a story about love. and a nice twist of faith for the two lover.

If you have any interest in Canadian politics then this is a must read. Sally has a wonderful style and makes the material both easy to read and entertaining.

Actually, I saw the movie first and then read the book. Both were awesome! This has to be the first book to deal with the weird baby-sitter urban legend. A great thriller!!

"The Movie List Book" is an excellent reference book for all types of film buffs. It lists films by their subjects and provides brief descriptions of each subject. Charming and witty; a must-read!

This is a fine thematic unit based upon myths and fables. It is challenging and rigorous. Students first take a pre-test so that the teacher can find out what students already know about mythology in general. After that, they are introduced to Greek mythology and given its context in time. Students learn about the Greek and Roman gods. Familiar myths such as Arachne, Echo and Narcissus, Phaethon, Io, Pegasus, Pygmalion, Icarus and more are presented to the students along with a plethora of extension activities to build upon language and vocabulary and higher level thinking. The four focus areas of this unit are vocabulary, literal comprehension, interpretive comprehension and literary terms.

Critical thinking activities are presented: making inferences, characterization, compare/contrast, analogies, and distinguishing multiple meanings.

Interspersed throughout the unit are creative writing activities, hands-on games, artistic activities, mazes, crosswords, debate topics, dictionary and research activities and more.

In this highly readable book, Rita O'Clair and her co-authors explore the geology, habitats, and animals of Southeast Alaska and how they interact with each other. I haven't found any other source that puts the basic story of the region together in this way. For those getting started learning about the area, this book provides a framework to organize future observations and learning. Those who already know some natural history of the area may be surprised by the connections this book helps make and the gaps it fills in.
